About Me

is lasik surgery something for you to consider?

Are you tired of fighting with your contact lenses each morning or struggling to find your glasses in the middle of the night so you can see what time it is? Have you ever considered getting lasik eye surgery to eliminate the need for your glasses and contact lenses? I put off getting the procedure completed for several years, but after having it done, my only regret is waiting so long to do it. If I was to add up how much it cost me to replace my glasses and contacts over the years, the cost of having the surgery performed was nothing. I have done my best to include any information that anyone considering getting lasik surgery needs to make an educated decision.

Tips For New Mobility Scooter Owners

If you're a person who has limited mobility due to illness or a chronic injury, a mobility scooter can change your life. Having a mobility scooter will allow you to regain your independence and partake in normal day to day activities. An attachment to hold the scooter can be installed on most makes and models of vehicles, making it easy to transport the mobility scooter anywhere you may want to go. However, mobility scooters are expensive pieces of medical equipment, so it is extremely important to know how to operate it properly. If you will be getting your first mobility scooter in the near future, use the following tips:

Read the Manual

Instruction manuals are typically very boring to read, but when you take possession of an expensive piece of equipment, the best thing that you can do is take the time to carefully read the instructions. The instruction manual will contain important information about how to turn your mobility scooter on, how to drive forward and an reverse, and how to charge the scooter. If you read the instruction manual but still have questions about how to operate it, contact your mobility scooter dealer for further assistance. The last thing you want to do is damage your new mobility scooter because you don't know how to use it properly.

Practice at Home

While mobility scooters are typically easy to drive and handle, there is a small learning curve for new owners. Don't take your mobility scooter to very busy places, such as the grocery store, the mall, or a movie theater, without practicing how to drive it first. Your best bet is to learn to operate your scooter at home or in your driveway before you take it out to use in public. Doing so will give you more confidence in regards to driving the scooter and will also help ensure that no one is hurt and your scooter isn't damaged.

Keep Up on Maintenance

If you want your mobility scooter to last and operate as it should, it will need to be properly maintained. Make sure that the battery stays charged, and swap out the old battery with a new battery as needed. You should also regularly check the tire pressure to make sure that it is at the right level-- this will make driving your mobility scooter more comfortable while also helping to ensure that the tires last longer.
