About Me

is lasik surgery something for you to consider?

Are you tired of fighting with your contact lenses each morning or struggling to find your glasses in the middle of the night so you can see what time it is? Have you ever considered getting lasik eye surgery to eliminate the need for your glasses and contact lenses? I put off getting the procedure completed for several years, but after having it done, my only regret is waiting so long to do it. If I was to add up how much it cost me to replace my glasses and contacts over the years, the cost of having the surgery performed was nothing. I have done my best to include any information that anyone considering getting lasik surgery needs to make an educated decision.

When Your Elderly Loved One Expresses Concerns About Their Living Situation

When you have a loved one who has moved into a senior living facility, you are likely relieved that they will be well cared for and will have the care and assistance that they need at all times. However, if your loved one begins to complain or expresses concerns, you may find yourself wondering what you can do to figure out if your loved one's concerns are legitimate or if they are the results of paranoia or dementia that may accompany the aging process.

Have A Home Care Services Company Also Provide Care

If your main concern is that your loved one is not receiving enough attention from the caregivers in the senior living facility, as founded or unfounded as that concern may be, there is a relatively easy solution to your worry. You can hire a home care services company to supplement the attention and care your loved one already receives from the caregivers at the facility.

Home care services caregivers can be contracted to visit your loved one in the nursing home as often as 24 hours a day or in shorter time increments as needed. They can provide companionship, can let staff know when your loved one needs to go the restroom or needs other assistance, and can generally keep an eye on your loved one so they get all of the care they need.

Home care services also will keep their own logbooks of the time caregivers spent with your loved one and will include any interactions with staff members at the facility. This will give you a second record of your loved one's care that you can compare and contrast with in case you worry about inconsistencies.

Install "Nanny Cams" In Your Loved One's Room

It is also within your rights to have a camera in your loved one's room at the senior care facility. However, because of privacy issues, this is only true if your loved one is in a private room at the facility. The camera can be a hidden nanny camera or an obvious security camera that only captures video within your loved one's room.

This makes it possible for you to see firsthand that your loved one is receiving the care that they need and that caregivers are treating your loved one with dignity and respect. You could install this camera for a short period of time to see how things are going and then remove it if no issues are found, or you can leave it in permanently if that makes you feel more secure about your loved one's care.

Generally speaking, caregivers in senior living facilities are attentive with their clients and provide excellent care. It is understandable, though, that you may want to take the time to make sure your loved one is safe and cared for. These steps will help you get that peace of mind and rest easier knowing your loved one is in good hands.
