About Me

is lasik surgery something for you to consider?

Are you tired of fighting with your contact lenses each morning or struggling to find your glasses in the middle of the night so you can see what time it is? Have you ever considered getting lasik eye surgery to eliminate the need for your glasses and contact lenses? I put off getting the procedure completed for several years, but after having it done, my only regret is waiting so long to do it. If I was to add up how much it cost me to replace my glasses and contacts over the years, the cost of having the surgery performed was nothing. I have done my best to include any information that anyone considering getting lasik surgery needs to make an educated decision.

3 Tips For Remaining Healthy Throughout Your Pregnancy

When you are pregnant, it is even more important than usual to make sure that you stay as healthy as possible because you are not only being healthy for you, but for your unborn baby as well. To do your best to stay healthy for your entire pregnancy, there are certain things that you should try to do. This article will discuss 3 of these tips in more detail, and will explain why they are so important.

Stay As Active As Possible

Being pregnant is different for every person and for every pregnancy, so it is important that you do what you feel that you are physically capable of. When it comes to fitness, the key is to stay as active as possible and listen to your body. In the beginning of your pregnancy, you may feel well enough to continue your exercise routine much like you did before you were pregnant, but as your pregnancy progresses, you may need to cut back a bit. Even doing things as simple as going for daily walks, climbing stairs, and other basic aerobic activities will help you to remain active and healthy as you progress through your pregnancy.

Eat A Healthy Variety of Foods

While all fruits and vegetables are excellent for you, there are some that are especially beneficial during pregnancy. Avocados help with your baby's brain development because they have omega-3 fats in them, and prunes are excellent because they help to keep you regular throughout your pregnancy. Low fat milk is also excellent for helping to keep your bones healthy, and also helping your baby grow. Other forms of low-fat dairy, such as yogurt and cottage cheese are also excellent. Planning your meals ahead of time, and keeping a house full of all of these healthy foods will make it easier for you.

Take Necessary Supplements

On top of your daily prenatal vitamin, you may need to take other supplements as well.  If you don't have folic acid in your prenatal vitamins, you will want to make sure that you take this daily as well. The best way to gauge what other supplements you may need to take, is to talk with your OBGYN. They will be able to look at your blood tests and will tell you if you need to take iron, fish oil, calcium, etc. This will help you to remain in good health while your sweet baby grows inside of you.
