About Me

is lasik surgery something for you to consider?

Are you tired of fighting with your contact lenses each morning or struggling to find your glasses in the middle of the night so you can see what time it is? Have you ever considered getting lasik eye surgery to eliminate the need for your glasses and contact lenses? I put off getting the procedure completed for several years, but after having it done, my only regret is waiting so long to do it. If I was to add up how much it cost me to replace my glasses and contacts over the years, the cost of having the surgery performed was nothing. I have done my best to include any information that anyone considering getting lasik surgery needs to make an educated decision.

Three Physical Health Issues Beyond Back Pain That Your Chiropractor Can Treat

When you're suffering from back pain, picking up the phone and arranging a chiropractic adjustment can help you regain your quality of life. While chiropractors can work wonders treating back pain, there are many other physical situations that an adjustment can also address. Whether your back is sore in conjunction without another issue or you're finding that you haven't experienced positive results from other forms of therapy, booking an appointment with a chiropractor can improve your health in a number of ways. Here are three reasons to schedule a visit with this healthcare professional.

Headaches

Although headaches can develop for a multitude of reasons, many start in your neck. Tight neck muscles and joint problems can quickly trigger a headache and you might be entirely unaware of how the discomfort began. According to data from the American Chiropractic Association, an adjustment can often reduce or eliminate your headache pain extremely quickly -- you might need just one treatment to find considerable relief. Although it's possible that you might need repeated treatments to deal with severe headaches or a neck that's significantly out of alignment, there's a little doubt that visiting a chiropractor, like those at Ridge Chiropractic, for this ailment can have positive results.

Sciatica

Pain from inflammation of your sciatic nerve can be debilitating, but it's often possible to find relief through a chiropractic adjustment. Sciatica develops when the nerve is pinched, and this pinching often transpires when your body isn't in proper alignment. By releasing the muscles around the affected area and making the necessary adjustments to allow your spine to return to its proper position, your chiropractor can often reduce your discomfort in a series of treatments. It's also common for your chiropractor to suggest that you get regular exercise between appointments to decrease the painful symptoms of this condition.

Pregnancy Discomfort

The physical changes that your body endures while you're pregnant, including significant changes in the arch of your back and the position of your pelvis, can leave you with major discomfort that can last for several months. Not only can chiropractic care help provide pain relief for women, but this form of care can also decrease the likelihood of complications such as the need for a Caesarian section or the likelihood of a breech birth. The American Pregnancy Association says that not only is chiropractic care safe for women who are pregnant, but that it can also help women manage their pregnancy-related symptoms such as nausea.
